Oh, by the way, you can stop with the Oasis already...they aren't around anymore! Plus, some of the above listed are even coming to JAX!!! Just another reason you need to start playing them!!! please play The Gaslight Anthem, why does good american bands get more radio plays in europe than america. - Just repeating what others are saying..I go to lots of shows and hear comments about alot of the local scene. One name that gets mentioned alot is MINDSLIP...and the comment is why doesn't the X play them... maybe you should give it a try.. I'd Recommend "JADE"

Wow. I didnt know At the Drive-In got any radio play. great band. I doubt it will happen, as the similar artists aren't very mainstream rock friendly, but I would be thrilled if some bands that are similar to Death Cab are played.

etc. Again, I doubt this will be paid much attention, as the general public has pretty bad taste, and accepts new music rather poorly, for the most part (cage the Elephant is kinda an exception apparently. Im surprised they got as popular as they did). - Girl Voice on XHer name is Katie, and she is completely awesome. I'll ask her how she feels about getting her picture up here...

the listeners to WOKV, and X102.9 (and Planet for that matter) are two very different audiences. When you talk about ratings, it's important to include what demographic you are talking about. While WOKV does great with the older crowd, they do not impact 18-34 year olds as much...
Which brings me to my next point. If we are talking about ratings, I do not wish my station to be where Planet is. They are getting their faces kicked in. Period. Just ask them. If they aren't cowards they will own it.
We will CONTINUE to play the best new rock, and we truly hope to expose Jacksonville to some great new up and coming bands. But we're also going to continue to poke fun at Planet because they are lame. Sorry if that is too distracting.
